Floor for Catio Enclosures
Cedar planks are great for the outdoors, they do not rot and are flea deterrent. The standard planks are a milled 1″ thick by either 8″ or 12″ wide. Milled wood is slightly smaller than the measurements given.Â
- Wood for the floor does not require hardware and lays securely in place.
- Planks only, no hardware needed. Easily lays in place with an estimated gap of 1/2″ between each plank.
- 1″x8″ cedar is used for the floor. When the floor dimension requires it, other widths of cedar may be used.
- 8″ wood is nominal 1×8 = Actual size is 7.25″ x 0.875″
Habitat Haven’s cedar floor is a “floating” floor made of individual planks. They are meant to be placed inside the enclosure and can easily be removed for cleaning or overwintering. Between each board, there should be a gap of approximately 1/2″ which allows for proper water drainage, as well as expansion caused by changes in weather and humidity.Â
